Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, reliable, and punctual transportation for the employer and their family to various destinations, managing schedules efficiently.
- Maintain the cleanliness and immaculate condition of the assigned vehicle, both interior and exterior, ensuring it is always presentable.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including fuel, oil, water, tires, brakes, and lights, ensuring optimal operational readiness and safety.
- Plan and select the most efficient, safest, and least congested routes, considering real-time traffic conditions and time constraints.
- Proactively manage vehicle servicing and maintenance schedules, coordinating with trusted workshops for timely repairs and regular checks to prevent breakdowns.
- Assist with careful loading and unloading of luggage, groceries, packages, and other items as required by the employer.
- Adhere strictly to all national and local traffic laws, road signs, and safety regulations at all times, prioritizing passenger safety.
- Ensure complete discretion and confidentiality regarding all aspects of the employer’s personal and professional life, respecting privacy boundaries.
- Handle occasional errands, deliveries, and other personal assistance tasks as directed by the employer, demonstrating flexibility and a helpful attitude.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, maintenance history, and any incidents for proper accountability.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver’s License (Class B minimum, with a clean driving record).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable professional driving experience, preferably in a private household or corporate executive setting.
- Excellent, in-depth knowledge of Lagos road networks, particularly Oshodi-Isolo, Surulere, Ikeja, and surrounding areas.
- Strong understanding of basic vehicle mechanics, maintenance requirements, and simple troubleshooting.
- Impeccable driving record with no history of major accidents, severe traffic violations, or criminal offenses.
- Exceptional level of discretion, professionalism, integrity, and trustworthiness.
- Proficiency in operating GPS devices and popular navigation applications (e.g., Google Maps, Waze) effectively.
- Fluent in English; demonstrable knowledge of local languages (e.g., Yoruba) is a significant advantage for communication.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of respectful interaction.
