Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks to transport goods to designated locations.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any issues.
- Adhere to all local, provincial, and national traffic laws and regulations.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of cargo, maintaining delivery schedules.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring proper securing of freight.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status and potential delays.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid Code 10 (C1) or Code 14 (EC) South African Driver's License.
- Clean driving record (no major violations in the past 3 years).
- Ability to read and understand maps and GPS devices.
