This is a vital full-time role responsible for ensuring the safe, punctual, and comfortable transportation of our esteemed staff, clients, and partners to various destinations within Bauchi and occasionally beyond, as required for business operations. As a Corporate Shuttle Driver, you will be the face of our company on the road, embodying our commitment to professionalism and excellent service. Your meticulous attention to road safety, vehicle maintenance, and scheduling will directly contribute to the smooth daily functioning of our operations and the productivity of our team. You will operate well-maintained company vehicles, adhere strictly to all traffic regulations, and maintain accurate records of journeys, fuel consumption, and vehicle service schedules. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport company staff, clients, and visitors to their designated locations according to scheduled routes and ad-hoc requests.
- Strictly adhere to all local traffic laws, regulations, and company safety policies at all times, prioritizing passenger safety.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle, including checking fuel, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes, reporting any defects immediately to management.
- Maintain the interior and exterior cleanliness of the vehicle to a high standard, ensuring a presentable and comfortable environment for all passengers.
- Keep accurate and detailed records of mileage, fuel consumption, maintenance history, and trip logs as per company guidelines.
- Assist passengers with loading and unloading luggage or other items as needed, demonstrating courtesy and helpfulness.
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely arrivals, accounting for potential traffic congestion and current road conditions, and communicating any potential delays proactively.
- Handle emergency situations, vehicle breakdowns, or minor accidents calmly and efficiently, following established company protocols and reporting incidents promptly.
- Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and a positive attitude when interacting with all passengers and members of the public, upholding the company's image.
- Ensure all necessary vehicle documents, such as registration, insurance, and roadworthiness certificates, are valid, up-to-date, and readily available in the vehicle.
- Attend periodic training sessions on defensive driving techniques, road safety, and customer service best practices as required by the company.
- Provide support for other logistical tasks as assigned by management, contributing to overall operational efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch or management regarding vehicle status, passenger feedback, or any operational challenges encountered.
- Be flexible with working hours, as some assignments may require early mornings, late evenings, or occasional weekend availability to meet business needs.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class B or D)
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a corporate or shuttle service setting
- Proven clean driving record with no history of major accidents or traffic violations
- Thorough knowledge of Bauchi road networks, major routes, and alternative paths
- Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics for routine checks and minor troubleshooting
- Strong commitment to punctuality, reliability, and strict adherence to schedules
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a polite and professional demeanor
- High level of personal integrity, trustworthiness, and discretion
- Ability to read and understand maps and operate GPS navigation devices
Preferred Qualifications
- Defensive driving certificate or advanced driver training
- Experience in a similar corporate shuttle driver role or hospitality transportation
- Basic first aid knowledge and ability to act calmly in emergencies
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent qualification
- Fluency in English and Hausa languages
