Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Dispatch Rider with a valid license to join our dedicated team at Umaru Shehu Hospital and Pharmacy in Damaturu. This crucial role involves the safe and timely delivery of medical supplies, prescriptions, and other essential items to our patients and partners across various locations within Damaturu and its environs. The ideal candidate will possess excellent navigational skills, a strong commitment to road safety, and a professional demeanor. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and promptly deliver medical supplies, prescriptions, and documents to designated locations.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to meet delivery schedules.
- Maintain the assigned motorcycle in good working condition, conducting routine checks and reporting any faults promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Ensure the secure handling and proper storage of all items during transit.
- Collect and verify signatures or confirmations of delivery upon successful completion.
- Communicate effectively with the dispatch team, recipients, and other colleagues.
- Handle cash payments or sensitive documents with utmost honesty and responsibility.
- Represent Umaru Shehu Hospital and Pharmacy professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid national motorcycle rider's license
- Proven experience as a dispatch rider or in a similar delivery role
- Excellent knowledge of Damaturu routes and surrounding areas
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and practices
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of integrity, responsibility, and reliability
- Physical fitness to handle long hours of riding and occasional lifting of packages
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of SSCE/WAEC qualification
- Prior experience working with a pharmacy, hospital, or logistics company
- Basic knowledge of motorcycle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with using GPS navigation tools
