As a freelance photographer, you will be instrumental in bringing visions to life, whether it’s documenting the energy of a major corporate conference, preserving the joy of a wedding, or producing stunning imagery for a product launch or marketing campaign. You’ll manage projects from initial concept development and client briefing through to final image delivery, ensuring high-quality results that consistently exceed expectations. Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand project requirements, scope, and desired outcomes for both event and commercial shoots.
- Plan and execute photography sessions, including scouting locations, setting up lighting, and ensuring all necessary equipment is available.
- Capture high-quality, impactful images at various events (e.g., weddings, conferences, birthdays, concerts) and for commercial purposes (e.g., product photography, corporate portraits, lifestyle shoots).
- Perform extensive post-production work, including culling, editing, retouching, color correction, and image manipulation using industry-standard software.
- Manage all aspects of project timelines, client communication, and final delivery of images in specified formats within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain and care for professional photography equipment, ensuring it is in excellent working condition for all assignments.
- Develop and maintain a strong professional portfolio showcasing diverse event and commercial work.
- Adhere to company branding guidelines and client briefs while exercising creative judgment to produce visually engaging content.
- Invoice clients and manage project financials in a timely and professional manner.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an event and commercial photographer with a strong, diverse portfolio.
- Proficiency in operating professional-grade camera equipment, lenses, and lighting systems.
- Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and other relevant photo editing software.
- Exceptional understanding of photography principles, including composition, lighting, exposure, and color theory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with clients and subjects.
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines.
- A creative eye and a passion for visual storytelling.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within Bwari, Abuja, and surrounding areas for assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Experience with videography and video editing (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Familiarity with drone photography and relevant licensing, if applicable.
- Strong understanding of marketing and branding principles, especially for commercial clients.
