Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of new Community Health Volunteers (CHVs).
- Support the scheduling and coordination of CHV activities, including community outreach, health awareness campaigns, and home visits.
- Facilitate logistical arrangements for CHV training sessions, workshops, and meetings.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer attendance, activity reports, and performance data.
- Provide administrative support to the community health team, including drafting correspondence and preparing program materials.
- Act as a primary point of contact for CHVs, addressing their queries and providing necessary support.
- Assist in the collection and basic analysis of program data to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with local community leaders and stakeholders to foster strong partnerships and ensure program relevance.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to program planning and evaluation discussions.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures by all CHVs.
Required Skills
- Diploma or Certificate in Community Health, Social Sciences, Public Health, or a related field.
- Demonstrated passion for community development and health initiatives.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Fluency in English and Swahili.
- Problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach to challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior volunteer experience or engagement in community service.
- Basic understanding of public health principles and local health challenges in Kenya.
- Experience working with diverse community groups.
- A valid motorcycle riding license is an added advantage.
