Career.supersecrets is seeking a dedicated and experienced Laundry Supervisor to join a prominent hotel’s housekeeping team in Opebi, Ikeja. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of the hotel’s laundry operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. As a Laundry Supervisor, you will be responsible for the daily management of the laundry facility, from the collection and sorting of linens to washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distribution. You will lead and motivate a team of laundry attendants, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, proper usage of equipment, and effective inventory management. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the hotel laundry department, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distribution of linens, uniforms, and guest laundry.
- Train, motivate, and manage laundry attendants, ensuring high productivity, quality standards, and adherence to established procedures.
- Monitor and maintain laundry equipment, scheduling routine maintenance and identifying repair needs to ensure continuous operation.
- Implement and enforce strict hygiene and quality control standards for all laundered items, ensuring they meet the hotel's cleanliness criteria.
- Manage inventory of linens, chemicals, and supplies, preparing orders as needed to maintain adequate stock levels and minimize waste.
- Maintain accurate records of laundry activities, including production levels, chemical usage, and linen discard rates.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the laundry facility.
- Collaborate with the Housekeeping Manager and other departments to ensure timely delivery of clean linens and efficient service.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a hotel laundry or similar high-volume commercial laundry operation.
- Thorough knowledge of laundry equipment operation, maintenance, and chemical usage.
- Strong leadership, team management, and motivational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high quality standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) for record-keeping and inventory.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English.
