Key Responsibilities
- Operate company-provided vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods, documents, and personnel across designated routes within Abuja and its environs.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled deadlines, utilizing GPS and local knowledge effectively.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or defects promptly.
- Ensure all cargo is properly secured and accounted for during transit, preventing damage or loss.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service during pickups and deliveries, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring careful handling.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and in good operational condition at all times.
- Respond to dispatch requests and communicate effectively with the logistics team regarding delivery status or potential delays.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Class B/C Driver’s License
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience (company or commercial vehicle)
- Clean driving record with no history of serious traffic violations
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks and traffic patterns
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- High degree of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality
- Physical fitness to handle occasional lifting of packages
