Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport goods, packages, and materials to designated locations within Lagos and beyond, adhering to schedules and timelines.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition and reporting any maintenance needs immediately.
- Load and unload cargo with care, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the assigned vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, logistics coordinators, and clients regarding delivery status, delays, or any unforeseen issues.
- Handle delivery documentation, secure necessary signatures, and verify the accuracy of delivered goods.
- Assist with other logistics-related tasks as required.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a logistics or commercial setting.
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks and traffic patterns.
- Strong understanding and adherence to road safety regulations.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and punctuality.
- Physical fitness to load and unload goods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience driving various types of commercial vehicles (vans, trucks).
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and mobile mapping applications.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or public holidays when necessary.
