Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wines, beers, and spirits, according to established recipes and standards.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner, taking orders, making recommendations, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including glassware, utensils, and equipment, adhering to strict hygiene standards.
- Manage and monitor liquor inventory, assist with stock replenishment, and ensure accurate record-keeping of supplies.
- Accurately handle cash, credit card, and other payment transactions, reconciling receipts at the end of each shift.
- Ensure strict compliance with all local and national licensing laws regarding alcohol service, including age verification.
- Collaborate effectively with other lounge and hotel staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
- Attend to any guest inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Contribute to a positive and energetic atmosphere within the hotel lounge, enhancing the overall guest ambiance.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a Bar Attendant or in a similar role within a hospitality setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktail recipes and preparation techniques.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong numerical aptitude for handling cash transactions and managing inventory.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as required.
- Fluent in English, with excellent verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in bartending or mixology from a recognised institution.
- Previous experience in a hotel, upscale lounge, or restaurant environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations pertinent to beverage service.
- Familiarity with various POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Ability to communicate in local languages (e.g., Yoruba) is an advantage.
