Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles for the delivery and pickup of goods and packages.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, utilizing GPS and local knowledge.
- Load, unload, and secure items in the vehicle, ensuring safe transit and preventing damage.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues or malfunctions promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Adhere strictly to all local traffic laws, company safety policies, and transportation regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Handle cash or electronic payments securely and accurately, if required for deliveries.
- Ensure the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the company vehicle.
- Assist with warehouse or loading bay tasks during non-driving periods as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with recipients, representing the company professionally.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E/G or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable professional driving experience
- Excellent knowledge of Jabi, Abuja, and surrounding road networks
- Strong understanding and adherence to road safety regulations
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to 25kg) regularly
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and highly responsible
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications
- SSCE/OND/HND qualification
- Previous experience in logistics, courier, or delivery services
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route optimization applications
- Defensive driving certification
- First Aid certification
