Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, loving, and engaging care for children aged 3 and 7.
  • Plan and execute age-appropriate educational activities, games, and outings.
  • Assist with homework and school projects for the elder child.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children, accommodating dietary needs.
  • Manage children's daily routines, including bath time, bedtime, and playtime.
  • Ensure the children's safety and well-being at all times, both inside and outside the home.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating environment for the children's areas.
  • Administer basic first aid if necessary and manage minor illnesses.
  • Communicate regularly and openly with parents regarding children's progress, activities, and any concerns.
  • Assist with light household duties related to the children (e.g., laundry, tidying play areas).
  • Transport children to and from school, appointments, and extracurricular activities as needed.
  • Foster good manners, respect, and social skills in the children.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Nanny or Caretaker, specifically in a family setting.
  • Genuine love for children and a strong understanding of child development stages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and organize engaging activities.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain quickly).
  • Valid South African driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Fluency in English and Zulu (advantageous but not mandatory).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications or diplomas in Early Childhood Education, Childcare, or related fields.
  • Previous experience with live-in roles.
  • Ability to cook healthy and diverse meals.
  • Experience with multiple children of varying ages.
