Job Description
Career.supersecrets is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our growing team in Falaj Al Mualla, Umm Al Quwain. This pivotal role involves overseeing various engineering projects from their initial concept through to final completion, ensuring they meet strict timelines, budgets, and quality standards. You will be instrumental in coordinating cross-functional teams, managing stakeholder communications, and implementing robust project management methodologies.
As a Project Engineer, you will be deeply involved in the technical aspects of construction and infrastructure development, applying your expertise to solve complex challenges and drive efficiency. Your day-to-day will include everything from preparing detailed project plans and schedules, conducting feasibility studies, to supervising on-site activities and ensuring compliance with local regulations and international best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
- Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
- Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
- Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
- Track project milestones and deliverables.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
- Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
- Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
- Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a Project Engineer in the UAE, specifically in construction or infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Sound knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the construction industry.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or Project Management.
- PMP or Prince2 certification.
- Experience with FIDIC contracts.
- Arabic language proficiency.
- Prior experience working on projects within free zones or industrial areas in the UAE.
