Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and spirits, following recipes and standards.
- Engage with customers in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner, taking orders and making recommendations.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked bar area, adhering to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Process payments accurately using POS systems and handle cash and card transactions responsibly.
- Monitor customer alcohol consumption and uphold responsible serving practices.
- Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service.
- Handle customer queries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Open and close the bar, including cashing up and ensuring security procedures are followed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bar Staff or Bartender in a busy environment.
- Excellent knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including basic mixology.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Food and Beverage Service or equivalent.
- Knowledge of local licensing laws and responsible serving practices (e.g., Personal Licence Holder or trained).
- Experience with electronic point-of-sale (POS) systems specific to the hospitality industry.
- Basic knowledge of cellar management (e.g., changing kegs, line cleaning).
