Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (vans, trucks) to transport goods to various destinations within Lagos and surrounding areas.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Perform pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and relevant documentation.
- Ensure the secure loading and unloading of goods, preventing damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or unforeseen delays.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously at all times.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.
- Manage time efficiently to meet delivery schedules and deadlines.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G/E minimum)
- Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in logistics or delivery.
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks and traffic patterns.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques.
- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, responsibility, and punctuality.
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- SSCE/GCE or equivalent educational qualification.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and mobile delivery applications.
- Experience driving larger commercial vehicles (e.g., 3-ton trucks).
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting.
