Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles for the transportation of goods, documents, and personnel across designated routes within Abuja and occasionally beyond.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to meet schedules and deadlines, using navigation tools as required.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or defects promptly.
- Ensure all goods are securely loaded, protected, and unloaded carefully to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with clients, partners, and colleagues.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and in excellent working condition at all times.
- Assist with loading and unloading items as necessary, ensuring proper documentation is completed for each delivery.
- Respond to urgent requests and adapt to changes in delivery schedules efficiently.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E/G minimum)
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience in Abuja
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks and traffic regulations
- Strong understanding and application of defensive driving techniques
- Ability to read and interpret maps and GPS navigation systems
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High degree of punctuality, reliability, and responsibility
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks and minor troubleshooting
- Physical fitness to handle loading and unloading tasks when required
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent
