Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and deliver a diverse range of engaging and age-appropriate activities, workshops, and educational programs for young people.
- Provide one-on-one and group support, offering guidance, active listening, and mentorship on various issues including mental health, education, relationships, and career pathways.
- Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with young people, acting as a consistent and reliable point of contact.
- Advocate for the needs and rights of young people, ensuring their voices are heard and represented within community initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with parents, schools, local authorities, and other community organizations to provide holistic support.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all young people, strictly adhering to all safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, activities, and individual progress, ensuring confidentiality and data protection.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs, gathering feedback to continuously improve services and outcomes.
- Act as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and respect at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience working with young people (aged 11-25) in a youth work, community, or educational setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving abilities.
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach when working with diverse groups of young people.
- Organisational skills with the ability to plan, manage, and evaluate projects and activities.
- Resilience and a proactive approach to challenges, maintaining a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- A qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, Education, or a related field (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work).
- Current First Aid certification.
- Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle.
- Experience working with specific youth demographics, such as NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) young people, those with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), or diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Knowledge of local community resources and services in Leamington Spa and Warwickshire.
