Career.supersecrets is proud to partner with a leading public utility provider in Minna, Niger State, to recruit a dedicated and skilled Water Board Engineer. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and prepare engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water supply, treatment, distribution, and wastewater collection systems.
  • Supervise the construction, installation, and maintenance of water infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to design, budget, and schedule.
  • Conduct regular water quality testing and analysis, implementing corrective actions to meet regulatory standards and public health requirements.
  • Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines efficiently, reporting progress and addressing any deviations.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations and engineering codes (e.g., COREN guidelines).
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and government agencies to ensure seamless project execution and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues, system failures, and customer complaints related to water supply and sanitation services.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and presentations for management and regulatory bodies.
  • Implement and promote best practices in water resource management, sustainability, and safety protocols.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in water infrastructure design, construction, or maintenance.
  • Registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, and GIS applications.
  • Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, water treatment processes, and wastewater management.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant Nigerian environmental laws and public health regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering or Water Resources Management.
  • Certification in specific water treatment technologies or environmental management systems.
  • Previous experience working with public utility boards or government infrastructure projects in Nigeria.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing sustainable water solutions and climate resilience strategies.
  • Familiarity with the local geographical and hydrological conditions of Minna, Niger State.
