Career.supersecrets is actively seeking a highly skilled and exceptionally reliable Driver – Logistics & Delivery to strengthen our operations in Dutse Alhaji, Abuja. This crucial full-time role places you at the heart of our distribution network, entrusting you with the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods and personnel across specified routes, primarily within Abuja and its environs, utilizing a well-maintained company vehicle. Beyond simply driving, you will be a direct representative of our commitment to excellence, ensuring every interaction and delivery upholds our high standards of service and professionalism.
Your daily responsibilities will extend to conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, meticulously recording mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery details. We expect a proactive approach to identifying and reporting any mechanical issues to ensure continuous operational efficiency and safety. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in the proper handling of goods, adhering to all loading and unloading procedures, and maintaining accurate inventory records as required. Success in this role demands an individual with an unwavering commitment to road safety, a comprehensive understanding of traffic laws, and excellent navigation skills within Abuja. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company-owned vehicles for the transportation of goods, packages, and personnel as scheduled.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring the vehicle is in excellent operating condition.
- Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or traffic violations immediately to the appropriate supervisor.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, navigating Abuja's traffic conditions effectively.
- Load and unload goods carefully, ensuring proper securing to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Adhere strictly to all national and local traffic laws, regulations, and company safety policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing Career.supersecrets professionally.
- Assist with basic vehicle cleaning and maintenance checks to ensure a presentable and functional vehicle.
- Handle delivery documentation, secure necessary signatures, and process payment if required.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E or G, depending on vehicle type)
- Minimum of 3 years of proven professional driving experience
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks and traffic regulations
- Clean driving record with no major accidents or traffic offenses
- Strong defensive driving skills and safety consciousness
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read maps, use GPS devices, and understand delivery schedules
- Punctuality and reliability
- Physical fitness to load/unload packages and sit for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- SSCE/GCE/NECO or equivalent educational qualification
- Trade Test certification in Auto Mechanics or related field is a plus
- Experience with courier or logistics operations
- Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance procedures
- First Aid certification.
