As a Laundry Attendant, you will be an integral part of our housekeeping team, responsible for ensuring all hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry are processed efficiently, hygienically, and to the highest quality standards. Your day will involve sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distributing a high volume of items, all while adhering strictly to established hygiene protocols and handling instructions for various fabric types. Key Responsibilities
- Sort all soiled linen, towels, and guest laundry according to type, color, and fabric.
- Operate washing, drying, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor washing and drying cycles to ensure proper machine functionality and desired results.
- Treat stains effectively using appropriate chemicals and techniques.
- Fold and stack clean linen and towels neatly, preparing them for storage or distribution.
- Inspect all items for cleanliness, damage, and quality before folding or pressing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry area, including regular cleaning of machines and workspaces.
- Manage inventory of laundry supplies and report needs to supervisors.
- Adhere to all hotel safety and hygiene standards and procedures.
- Assist with other housekeeping duties as required, contributing to overall team success.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Laundry Attendant or in a similar role within a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Knowledge of various laundry equipment operation and maintenance.
- Understanding of different fabric types and appropriate washing/ironing techniques.
- Ability to identify and treat stains effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift, push, and pull heavy laundry bags/carts.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
