Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card, and other forms of payment, providing correct change and receipts.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring merchandise is properly scanned and bagged.
- Greet customers warmly, provide helpful information, and resolve any inquiries or complaints promptly and courteously.
- Assist with merchandising duties, including stocking shelves, arranging displays, and performing price checks when required.
- Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including those related to loss prevention and security.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth store operations and a positive shopping environment.
- Participate in store inventory counts and assist with other operational tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a retail or customer service role.
- Proven ability to handle cash and process transactions accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Matric).
- Previous experience with a specific POS system.
- Familiarity with retail operational procedures and basic merchandising.
