Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles for the transportation of goods and personnel.
- Plan and execute daily delivery routes to ensure timely and accurate deliveries within Bwari, Abuja, and surrounding areas.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in excellent working condition.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and coordinate routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Complete delivery paperwork accurately, including manifests, invoices, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, colleagues, and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues.
- Handle cash payments or verify delivery receipts as required.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or incidents promptly to management.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously to all clients and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E or G, depending on vehicle type)
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience (trucks, vans, or commercial vehicles)
- Excellent knowledge of Bwari, Abuja, and surrounding road networks
- Proven track record of safe driving and adherence to traffic laws
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good time management and organizational abilities
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages as required
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Preferred Qualifications
- Defensive driving certification
- Previous experience in logistics or courier services
