Career.supersecrets is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Laundry Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the laundry department for a prominent hotel in Oworonshoki, Lagos. Your role will involve a comprehensive understanding of laundry equipment operation, maintenance schedules, chemical usage, and best practices for fabric care to extend linen life and uphold quality. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of laundry staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Ensure all laundry operations adhere to established quality standards, hygiene protocols, and safety regulations.
- Operate and maintain all laundry equipment (washers, dryers, ironers, folders) and promptly report any malfunctions.
- Manage inventory of linens, uniforms, and laundry supplies, conducting regular stock checks and placing orders as needed.
- Monitor chemical usage and dosage, ensuring proper handling and storage in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Implement and oversee linen sorting, washing, drying, folding, and pressing procedures for various fabric types.
- Maintain accurate records of laundry production, chemical consumption, and equipment maintenance.
- Address and resolve guest complaints or issues related to laundry services promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the Housekeeping and other departments to ensure timely delivery of clean linens and uniforms.
- Develop and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality or operational efficiency.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in laundry operations, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting industrial laundry machinery.
- Knowledge of various fabric types and appropriate washing/care methods.
