This vital role involves supporting the Senior Park Warden in the day-to-day management and maintenance of Leicester’s beautiful parks, nature reserves, and open spaces. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Park Warden with routine patrols, inspections, and maintenance of park facilities, grounds, and natural areas.
- Perform general grounds maintenance tasks including litter picking, emptying bins, clearing pathways, and basic horticultural duties.
- Engage positively with park visitors, providing information, assistance, and guidance on park rules and regulations.
- Identify and report any hazards, maintenance issues, or instances of anti-social behaviour promptly.
- Support with conservation projects, including habitat management, tree planting, and wildlife monitoring.
- Conduct minor repairs to park infrastructure such as benches, fences, and signs.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of educational and community engagement events within the parks.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and maintenance work.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety guidelines.
Required Skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with the public.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
