Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company vehicle for the transportation and delivery of goods across designated routes in Nyanya, Abuja, and surrounding areas.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, utilizing navigation tools as needed.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or damage promptly.
- Ensure all delivery documentation is accurately completed, including invoices, manifests, and proof of delivery.
- Assist with loading and unloading items, ensuring goods are secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good working order of the company vehicle.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally and courteously with clients.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules and respond to dynamic routing needs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding delays, incidents, or other operational issues.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver’s License (Class G minimum)
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience (commercial/delivery driving preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of Nyanya, Abuja road networks and traffic regulations
- Excellent defensive driving skills and a clean driving record
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read maps and use GPS navigation systems effectively
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and carry packages (up to 25kg)
- High level of responsibility and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE/GCE/NECO)
- Experience with delivery management software or mobile applications
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge (e.g., checking oil, tire pressure)
- First Aid certification is a plus
