Career.supersecrets is actively seeking a highly motivated and reliable Delivery Assistant to join our growing parcel logistics team based in Lekki Phase 2. As a Delivery Assistant, you will be the face of our company, responsible for the timely, safe, and accurate delivery of packages to our valued customers throughout the Lekki axis and broader Lagos area. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that every parcel reaches its destination intact and on schedule, contributing directly to our reputation for reliability. Key Responsibilities
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate a delivery vehicle daily.
- Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes.
- Follow routes and time schedules provided by dispatch.
- Handle packages with care to prevent damage during transit and delivery.
- Provide excellent customer service, collecting signatures and payments (if required).
- Complete logs and reports, including proof of delivery records.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the delivery vehicle.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
- Assist with warehouse sorting and organization as needed during off-peak delivery times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Delivery Assistant or similar role (e.g., dispatch rider, courier).
- Valid driver's license (Motorcycle or Car) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate various types of delivery vehicles (motorcycle, van, small truck).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good physical condition; ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with GPS devices and local street navigation in Lekki and Lagos.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of professional delivery experience.
- Knowledge of parcel logistics and chain of custody procedures.
- Residency near Lekki Phase 2 for ease of commute before moving into company-provided accommodation.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
