Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and validate complex actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and capital calculations within the Life & Pensions sector.
- Perform detailed actuarial analyses for statutory, regulatory, and internal reporting, including Solvency II and IFRS 17.
- Contribute to the design and review of new life and pensions products, assessing their profitability and risk profiles.
- Provide expert actuarial advice and support to various business units, including underwriting, claims, finance, and product development.
- Conduct experience investigations and sensitivity analyses to inform strategic business decisions and enhance risk management frameworks.
- Prepare comprehensive actuarial reports and presentations for senior management, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Actively participate in departmental projects, process improvements, and the mentoring of junior actuarial trainees.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant actuarial standards, professional guidelines, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Qualified Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA) or equivalent international qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in a Life & Pensions actuarial role.
- Strong proficiency in actuarial modelling software (e.g., Prophet, MoSes, R, Python).
- In-depth knowledge of Solvency II and IFRS 17 principles and their practical application.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex actuarial concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with capital modelling and ALM (Asset-Liability Management) techniques.
- Familiarity with UK and Irish regulatory environments for Life & Pensions.
- Project management experience or involvement in significant actuarial transformation projects.
- A track record of mentoring or leading junior actuarial staff.
