Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport goods and materials to designated locations.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and transportation regulations.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring proper securing to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle records, and fuel consumption reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Plan and optimize routes to ensure timely deliveries and efficient fuel usage.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously to clients and the public.
- Maintain cleanliness and good working order of the assigned vehicle.
- Utilize provided accommodation and meals as per company policy, ensuring optimal rest for duties.
Required Skills
- Valid Class E (or equivalent) driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably within a logistics or distribution setting.
- Thorough knowledge of Lagos road networks and traffic regulations.
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance basics and troubleshooting.
