Career.supersecrets is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Laundry Attendant to join our dynamic hotel housekeeping team in Orile, Lagos. This vital role ensures that all linen, uniforms, and guest laundry are processed efficiently, hygienically, and to the highest standards of quality. As a Laundry Attendant, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the pristine condition of our hotel, directly impacting guest satisfaction and the overall appearance of our establishment. We are looking for an individual who is reliable, detail-oriented, and understands the importance of cleanliness and timely service in a hospitality environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining commercial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and ironers. Your day will involve sorting soiled laundry by type and color, pre-treating stains, washing according to fabric care instructions, drying, pressing, folding, and neatly stacking a variety of items. This ranges from bedsheets, towels, and table linens to staff uniforms and delicate guest garments. Adherence to strict hygiene protocols, machine operation manuals, and safety standards is paramount to ensure the well-being of both our guests and staff, as well as the longevity of our linens. You will also assist in monitoring and managing laundry supplies, promptly reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to ensure continuous operation. Furthermore, you will contribute to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere within the housekeeping department, often assisting with inventory counts and organization. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain commercial laundry equipment including washers, dryers, and ironers safely and efficiently.
- Sort soiled laundry, pre-treat stains, and wash items according to specific instructions and hygiene standards.
- Dry, press, fold, and neatly store all cleaned linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry.
- Inspect all items for cleanliness and damage, ensuring quality control before distribution.
- Assist with the inventory of linen and laundry supplies, reporting shortages or discrepancies.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, or safety hazards promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the laundry area.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards related to laundry operations and guest service.
- Collaborate effectively with the housekeeping team to ensure a consistent supply of clean linen.
Required Skills
