This pivotal role involves operating a company-provided vehicle to ensure the timely and secure transportation of goods and packages across specified routes within Abuja and occasionally beyond. You will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle’s cleanliness and basic operational checks, accurately logging deliveries, and interacting respectfully with clients and colleagues. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods and packages.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform minor routine checks (e.g., fuel, tire pressure).
- Accurately complete delivery logs, manifest sheets, and other required documentation.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally with clients.
- Handle cash or payment transactions as required for deliveries.
- Assist with warehouse tasks or other duties as assigned when not on delivery routes.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable professional driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no history of major traffic violations.
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks and routes.
- Ability to read and interpret maps and utilize GPS navigation systems effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit and able to lift and carry packages as required.
- High degree of punctuality, reliability, and responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- SSCE/OND qualification or equivalent.
- Experience with logistics software or mobile delivery applications.
- Defensive driving certification.
- First Aid certification.
- Previous experience in courier or delivery services.
