Key Responsibilities

  • Safely guide children and other pedestrians across designated school crossings at peak times (before and after school).
  • Operate 'STOP' signs effectively and confidently to halt traffic when necessary.
  • Maintain a highly visible and reassuring presence, acting as a point of contact for children and parents.
  • Observe traffic flow and pedestrian movements to identify potential hazards and take appropriate action.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or concerns regarding road safety to the appropriate authorities.
  • Adhere strictly to road safety regulations and local council guidelines.
  • Wear the provided uniform and use all safety equipment diligently.
  • Foster a friendly and approachable demeanour, building positive relationships within the school community.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, maintaining focus and vigilance.
  • Assist with promoting road safety awareness among children.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with children and parents.
