Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior researchers and scientists in setting up, conducting, and monitoring laboratory experiments.
- Prepare and process samples, reagents, and solutions with precision and accuracy.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Collect, record, and organize experimental data, maintaining meticulous lab notebooks and digital records.
- Perform basic data analysis and generate preliminary reports under supervision.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, quality control standards, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies to ensure smooth operations.
- Clean and sterilize laboratory glassware and equipment, maintaining a tidy and organized workspace.
- Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and learning from experienced colleagues.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report complex problems to senior staff.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific field.
- Foundational knowledge of laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
- Proficiency in using basic laboratory equipment (e.g., pipettes, centrifuges, pH meters).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in experimental work and data recording.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
