Key Responsibilities
- Manage and control access to the premises for employees, visitors, and contractors, verifying identification and issuing passes as required.
- Operate and monitor CCTV systems, alarms, and other security equipment, reporting any suspicious activities or incidents promptly.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all visitors, vehicle movements, and key issuance/returns.
- Conduct regular patrols and checks of the perimeter and designated areas to ensure security and identify potential hazards.
- Respond to and report any security breaches, emergencies, or disturbances in accordance with established procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service and clear directions to visitors, answering queries and assisting with general information.
- Enforce site rules and regulations, ensuring compliance from all individuals on the premises.
- Assist with traffic management and parking control on-site as needed.
- Liaise effectively with internal departments, management, and external emergency services when necessary.
- Ensure the gatehouse and surrounding area are kept tidy and presentable.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a security, gatehouse, or front-of-house role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to operate basic security equipment (e.g., CCTV, access control systems).
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and logs.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly responsible.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and communication.
- Valid UK driving license (desirable for potential site patrols).
Preferred Qualifications
- SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding license (desirable but not essential, training may be provided).
- Basic First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Previous experience working in an industrial or commercial setting.
