Career.supersecrets is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Grant Writer to join our dedicated team in Nembe, Bayelsa. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities from local, national, and international foundations, government agencies, and corporate donors relevant to Nembe's development needs.
- Develop, write, and submit high-quality, persuasive, and well-structured grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and concept papers in alignment with funder guidelines and organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with project managers, community leaders, and subject matter experts to gather necessary information, data, and testimonials for grant applications.
- Prepare comprehensive grant budgets and financial reports in conjunction with the finance team, ensuring accuracy and compliance with funder requirements.
- Maintain a detailed calendar of grant application deadlines, reporting requirements, and donor communications.
- Monitor grant progress, prepare interim and final reports, and ensure compliance with all grant terms and conditions.

- Stay updated on fundraising trends, best practices in grant writing, and relevant policies impacting non-profit funding in Nigeria.
Required Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proven ability to research, write, and edit compelling grant proposals and reports.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret grant guidelines and project data.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and grant management software/databases.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of community development principles and challenges in regions like Nembe.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or proposal development, preferably within the non-profit or development sector.
