Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the retail premises, both internal and external, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, vandalism, and theft.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras, to identify suspicious activities or persons.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergency calls, and security incidents, taking appropriate action as per established protocols.
- Deter criminal activity and ensure the safety of employees, customers, and property.
- Assist staff and customers with security-related concerns, including lost property and directions, maintaining a professional and helpful demeanor.
- Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Enforce company policies and procedures regarding security, access control, and conduct within the retail environment.
- Provide first aid or emergency assistance if required, coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
- Maintain a highly visible and professional presence to reassure customers and deter potential offenders.
Required Skills
- Valid PSIRA Grade C certificate (or higher) is mandatory.
- Proven experience as a Security Guard, preferably in a retail or public-facing environment.
- Excellent observational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and interaction.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective in high-pressure situations.
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and surveillance monitoring.
- Demonstrated physical fitness suitable for patrols and standing for extended periods.
- Sound knowledge of security protocols, emergency procedures, and relevant legal requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- A valid First Aid Level 1 certificate.
