Career.supersecrets is seeking a dedicated and experienced Driver – Logistics & Delivery to join our operational team in Suleja, Abuja. This pivotal role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods, documents, and personnel using a company-provided vehicle. As a key member of our logistics function, you will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining vehicle integrity, and adhering strictly to all traffic regulations and company policies. We are looking for an individual with a strong sense of responsibility, excellent time management skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Your daily activities will range from planning delivery routes, loading and offloading items, to accurately documenting all deliveries and pickups. This position requires someone who can work independently while also collaborating effectively with the logistics team to streamline operations and enhance overall service delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle for the transport of goods, documents, and personnel across designated routes.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, considering traffic patterns and delivery deadlines.
- Load, unload, and secure items properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or damage promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Adhere to all local and national traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Communicate effectively with the logistics team, clients, and recipients regarding delivery status and any unforeseen delays.
- Ensure the cleanliness and presentability of the company vehicle at all times.
- Assist with other logistical and operational tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G)
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in logistics or delivery.
- In-depth knowledge of Suleja and Abuja road networks.
- Excellent defensive driving skills and a clean driving record.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 25 kg.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of responsibility and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- SSCE/GCE/NECO or equivalent education.
- Experience with delivery tracking systems or mobile applications.
- Familiarity with various types of delivery vehicles.
- First Aid certification.
