Job Description
Career.supersecrets is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Resources Manager to lead our HR department in Azare, Bauchi. This critical role is central to our continued success, focusing on nurturing a thriving workplace culture and ensuring our internal team is robust, well-supported, and high-performing. As an HR Manager, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with our organizational goals, fostering employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations. You will manage the entire employee lifecycle, from talent acquisition and onboarding to performance management, training, and offboarding. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong operational capabilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of HR best practices within the Nigerian context. You will work closely with leadership to identify human capital needs, develop retention strategies, and promote a positive and productive work environment where every employee feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
- Nurture a positive working environment and ensure employee relations are managed effectively and fairly.
- Manage the recruitment and selection process for internal staff, including job descriptions, advertising, screening, interviewing, and offer management.
- Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management, particularly with Nigerian labor laws.
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.
- Administer compensation and benefit plans.
- Review and update HR policies and procedures to ensure they are current and effective.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an HR Manager or similar HR leadership role (minimum 4 years).
- In-depth knowledge of Nigerian labor law and HR best practices.
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
- Demonstrable experience with HR metrics.
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to strategize and lead.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM-CP, PHR).
- Master's degree in Human Resources or related discipline.
