Career.supersecrets is actively seeking a dedicated Laundry Helper to join the team at a prominent hotel partner in Odogunyan, Ikorodu. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You will be responsible for the entire laundry process, from sorting incoming items to preparing them for storage or immediate use. Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, and fold a high volume of hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and guest personal items according to established procedures.
- Operate and maintain commercial laundry equipment (washers, dryers, ironers, folders) safely and efficiently, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Maintain the cleanliness, tidiness, and organization of the laundry facility, including work areas and storage spaces.
- Adhere strictly to hygiene, sanitation, and safety protocols to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
- Monitor laundry supply levels and communicate shortages to management to ensure continuous operation.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts of linen and other laundry supplies.
- Inspect finished laundry for quality, ensuring all items are stain-free, properly pressed, and folded before delivery.
- Deliver clean linen to designated hotel areas such as guest rooms, restaurants, and spa facilities.
- Handle guest dry cleaning requests and special laundry instructions with care and discretion.
- Collaborate effectively with housekeeping and other hotel departments to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods, lift, push, and pull heavy laundry bags (up to 25kg).
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Basic understanding of laundry processes and equipment operation.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (1+ years) in a hotel, commercial laundry, or similar cleaning service environment.
