Job Description

Are you a highly observant and responsible individual committed to fostering order and safety within your community? Career.supersecrets is seeking dedicated Traffic Wardens to join our team, working across various key locations within Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom. This crucial role involves managing vehicular and pedestrian traffic, enforcing parking regulations, and ensuring the smooth and safe movement of people and vehicles in busy areas. As a Traffic Warden, you will be the eyes and ears on the ground, contributing directly to the welfare and efficiency of our bustling city. Your primary objective will be to prevent gridlock, reduce accidents, and maintain a respectful flow of traffic, particularly during peak hours, special events, and near schools or markets.

This position requires a strong sense of civic duty, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and authoritative under pressure. You will be interacting with the public daily, offering assistance, providing directions, and educating road users on local traffic laws. You’ll be part of a team dedicated to enhancing urban living, ensuring that Ikot Ekpene remains a safe and accessible environment for all its residents and visitors. Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and control vehicle and pedestrian traffic at designated intersections, busy roads, and during special events.
  • Enforce parking regulations, issue warnings or citations for infractions, and report illegally parked vehicles.
  • Respond to traffic incidents, accidents, or breakdowns, providing initial assistance and directing emergency services as needed.
  • Provide information and assistance to the public regarding traffic directions, road conditions, and local landmarks.
  • Monitor traffic flow and identify areas prone to congestion or hazards, reporting findings to supervisory personnel.
  • Assist school children and vulnerable pedestrians safely across roads.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and issued citations.
  • Educate motorists and pedestrians on traffic laws and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and community groups to address traffic-related issues.
  • Undergo regular training to stay updated on traffic management techniques and public safety protocols.
