Key Responsibilities
- Sort all soiled linens (towels, sheets, tablecloths, uniforms) according to type, color, and degree of soil before washing.
- Operate commercial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and ironers, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load and unload laundry machines, ensuring correct water temperatures, detergent amounts, and cycle selections are used.
- Visually inspect laundered items for stains, damage, or wear, and re-wash or report as necessary.
- Fold, iron, and press all hotel linens and uniforms neatly and uniformly, preparing them for storage or immediate use.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including equipment, floors, and storage shelves.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and company policies.
- Handle guest laundry requests with confidentiality, care, and efficiency.
- Assist with inventory management of laundry supplies and linens as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a laundry or housekeeping role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Ability to operate industrial laundry equipment (washers, dryers, ironers).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy bags of laundry, and push/pull linen carts.
- Basic understanding of laundry chemicals and their safe usage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
