Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Driver to join our dynamic logistics and delivery team in Abuja. This critical role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods, personnel, and documents using a company-provided vehicle. As a Driver – Logistics & Delivery, you will be an integral part of our operations, ensuring timely and secure deliveries across various locations within Abuja and its environs. This position requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent time management skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for planning routes, making deliveries according to schedules, and assisting with loading and unloading items as needed. Attention to detail in checking cargo, maintaining records, and reporting any incidents or vehicle issues is paramount. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods, documents, and personnel to designated locations.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries.
- Ensure the vehicle is always in excellent working condition through regular inspections and maintenance checks (fuel, oil, tire pressure, lights, etc.).
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery logs.
- Assist with loading and unloading items, ensuring they are properly secured to prevent damage during transit.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously to clients and the public.
- Handle company property and sensitive documents with utmost care and confidentiality.
- Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle interior and exterior.
- Execute special assignments and errands as directed by management.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver’s License (Class E or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks and traffic regulations.
- Proven clean driving record.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and understand maps and GPS devices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and responsibility.
- Physical fitness to assist with loading/unloading and prolonged driving.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
- Defensive driving certification.
