Career.supersecrets is actively seeking a highly skilled and professional Driver – Logistics & Delivery to join our dedicated team in Katampe, Abuja. This pivotal role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods and personnel using a company-provided vehicle. As a key member of our logistics operation, you will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining vehicle integrity, and upholding our commitment to exceptional service. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods and personnel.
- Plan and execute delivery routes to ensure timely and accurate deliveries within Katampe and surrounding Abuja areas.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and promptly report any defects, damages, or maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery records, fuel consumption data, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Adhere strictly to all Nigerian traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations to ensure the well-being of self and others.
- Assist with the careful loading and unloading of goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper internal and external maintenance of the company vehicle.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status, potential delays, or issues.
- Handle cash or payment transactions as required, accurately and securely, and submit reconciliation reports.
- Represent Career.supersecrets professionally at all times during interactions with clients and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G or higher with commercial driving endorsement if applicable).
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience in a logistics, delivery, or commercial capacity.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or accidents in the past 3 years.
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks, including Katampe, and traffic regulations.
- Strong navigational skills using traditional maps and modern GPS devices.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks (e.g., oil, tire pressure, water levels).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with colleagues and clients.
- High level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
- Physical fitness to lift and move packages weighing up to 25kg as required.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
- Experience with logistics software or delivery tracking systems.
- First Aid and Defensive Driving certification.
- Previous experience operating vans or small trucks for commercial purposes.
- Familiarity with handling sensitive, fragile, or temperature-controlled goods.
