Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (vans, motorcycles) for the delivery and collection of parcels across designated routes within Lagos Island and surrounding areas.
- Efficiently plan and execute daily delivery routes, optimizing for time and fuel efficiency.
- Verify contents of shipments against shipping documents before and after deliveries.
- Load and unload parcels from vehicles, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, obtaining signatures and providing excellent service.
- Handle cash payments or electronic payment collections accurately when required.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and vehicle logs.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Assist with warehouse sorting and organization of parcels as needed.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian driver's license (Class G or higher)
- Minimum of 6 months proven experience in a delivery or driving role
- Strong knowledge of Lagos road networks and traffic patterns, particularly Lagos Island
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 25 kg
- High level of integrity, punctuality, and reliability
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for record-keeping
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent
- Experience with navigation apps and delivery management software
- First aid certification is a plus
- Ability to speak multiple local languages (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo) is an advantage
