Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough literature reviews and background research on assigned topics related to development initiatives in Katsina.
- Assist in the design and refinement of research methodologies, data collection tools (surveys, questionnaires, interview guides), and sampling strategies.
- Undertake both qualitative and quantitative data collection in the field, which may involve interviews, focus group discussions, and administering surveys in diverse community settings.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of collected data through careful verification and validation processes.
- Organize, clean, and manage large datasets using appropriate software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R, NVivo).
- Perform preliminary data analysis, including descriptive statistics and thematic analysis, to identify key trends and patterns.
- Contribute to the drafting of research reports, presentations, policy briefs, and other dissemination materials.
- Support the preparation of research proposals, grant applications, and ethical review submissions.
- Liaise effectively with community leaders, local authorities, project beneficiaries, and other stakeholders during field activities.
- Participate in team meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance research skills and project understanding.
- Adhere to strict ethical guidelines and data protection protocols throughout all research activities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in research methodologies, both qualitative and quantitative.
- Proficiency in data collection techniques and tools.

- Fluency in Hausa, both written and spoken.

- Understanding of local socio-cultural contexts in Katsina.
- Ability to travel extensively within Katsina State for fieldwork.
