This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage staff, maintain equipment, control inventory, and implement best practices in laundry services. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and train laundry staff, ensuring adherence to all operational procedures and safety standards.
- Oversee the daily operations of the hotel laundry, including washing, drying, pressing, folding, and sorting of all hotel linen and uniforms.
- Inspect all linen and uniforms for quality and cleanliness, ensuring they meet the hotel's high standards.
- Manage laundry inventory, including ordering supplies, chemicals, and linen stock, to maintain adequate levels.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on laundry equipment and coordinate with maintenance for repairs.
- Implement and monitor energy and water conservation practices within the laundry department.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of chemicals, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of linen usage, damaged items, and discarded items.
- Collaborate with other departments, especially Housekeeping, to ensure timely delivery of clean linen.
- Develop and implement efficient laundry schedules and workflows.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Laundry Supervisor or similar role, preferably in a hotel setting.
- Strong knowledge of various laundry chemicals, equipment, and cleaning techniques.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards in laundry operations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
