Career.supersecrets is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Driver to join our logistics and delivery team. This crucial full-time role involves operating a company-owned vehicle to safely and efficiently transport goods, packages, and occasionally personnel across Wuse 2, Abuja, and surrounding areas. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining the vehicle in excellent condition, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service. Your day-to-day will involve careful route planning to optimize delivery times, strict adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations, and diligent record-keeping of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery logs. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver goods, documents, or personnel to various destinations within Wuse 2, Abuja, and surrounding areas.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, utilizing navigation tools and knowledge of local road networks.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in excellent working condition; report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure the safety and security of goods during transit, including proper loading and unloading procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions with clients and recipients.
- Assist with loading and unloading items as required, ensuring proper handling and care.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and tidy, both inside and out.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules and deadlines.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver’s License (Category B or C)
- Clean driving record with no major violations for the past 3 years
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks, especially Wuse 2 and surrounding areas
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and road safety regulations
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read maps and use GPS devices effectively
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry packages as needed
- High level of responsibility and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- SSCE/GCE/NECO or equivalent
- Defensive driving certification
- Experience with courier or logistics companies
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge (e.g., checking oil, tire pressure)
- Familiarity with various vehicle types (vans, pickups)
