Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all front-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons.
- Manage and motivate a diverse team, including ushers, box office staff, and facility personnel, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, fire, and licensing regulations, conducting regular inspections and drills.
- Manage venue facilities, maintenance, and cleanliness, coordinating with external contractors as required.
- Oversee financial aspects of operations, including cash handling, budgeting for FOH expenditure, and stock control.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
- Act as the primary point of contact for emergency situations and manage crowd control effectively.
- Collaborate with production teams, marketing, and artistic departments to ensure smooth event delivery.
- Recruit, train, and appraise front-of-house staff, promoting professional development.
- Handle customer complaints and feedback professionally and efficiently, resolving issues to ensure satisfaction.
- Contribute to the strategic planning for venue development and audience engagement initiatives.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a management role within a theatre or live entertainment venue.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of motivating and developing staff.
- Excellent understanding of health, safety, and licensing regulations applicable to public venues.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrable financial acumen, including budgeting and cash management.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by performance schedules.
- Proficiency in operational planning and problem-solving under pressure.
- IT literacy, including experience with ticketing systems and standard office software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Arts Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Personal Licence Holder for alcohol sales.
- Experience with P&L management and reporting.
