Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medicines and provide appropriate advice to patients.
- Conduct thorough medication reviews (e.g., NMS, MURs) to ensure safe and effective use of medication.
- Offer expert patient counselling on dosage, potential side effects, drug interactions, and general health advice.
- Manage and maintain medicine stock levels, ensuring correct storage and expiry date rotation.
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians, dispensers, and other support staff.
- Adhere strictly to all professional, ethical, and legal guidelines set by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and other regulatory bodies.
- Participate in local and national public health campaigns and initiatives.
- Handle patient queries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Identify and address potential drug-related problems and intervene appropriately.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Required Skills
- Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree or equivalent.
- Full and current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Proven experience in a community or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Exceptional clinical knowledge and understanding of pharmacology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centric approach.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in pharmacy IT systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Independent Prescribing qualification.
