Career.supersecrets is seeking a highly motivated and responsible Driver – Logistics & Delivery to join our growing team in Suleja, Abuja. This pivotal role involves operating a company-provided vehicle to facilitate the timely and safe transportation of goods, documents, and personnel across designated routes. As a driver, you are the face of our logistics operations, ensuring that every delivery is handled with professionalism and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate company-provided vehicles for the transport of goods, packages, and personnel.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, utilizing navigation tools as needed.
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, delivery times, and any incidents.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and transportation regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service during pickups and deliveries, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Handle delivery documentation, secure signatures, and process returns or exchanges as required.
- Communicate effectively with the logistics coordinator regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and tidy, both interior and exterior.
- Assist with other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the logistics team or management.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver’s License (Class G or higher)
- Proven experience as a driver, preferably in logistics or delivery.
- Excellent knowledge of Suleja and surrounding Abuja road networks.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Ability to operate a variety of vehicle types safely.
- Good physical condition to handle loading and unloading of goods.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of punctuality and time management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of SSCE/WASSCE certificate.
- Certification in defensive driving.
- Familiarity with GPS devices and route optimization software.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
