Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Renewable Energy Investment Analyst to join our growing team in Anambra. The successful candidate will play a critical role in evaluating and structuring investments in renewable energy projects, ensuring the financial viability and environmental sustainability of our portfolio. This role requires strong analytical skills, financial modeling expertise, and a deep understanding of the renewable energy sector in Nigeria. You will work closely with senior management, project developers, and other stakeholders to identify and assess promising investment opportunities, conduct due diligence, and manage the investment process from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable working independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting thorough financial modeling and valuation of renewable energy projects.
- Performing due diligence on potential investments, including technical, financial, and environmental assessments.
- Developing investment recommendations and presentations for senior management.
- Monitoring and managing existing investments, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and identifying potential risks.
- Staying abreast of industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements in the renewable energy sector.
- Collaborating with project developers and other stakeholders to structure and negotiate investment agreements.
- Preparing regular reports and presentations on investment performance and market trends.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of the company's investment strategy.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills (Excel proficiency is essential)
- Proven experience in financial analysis and investment appraisal
- Deep understanding of the renewable energy sector in Nigeria
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in financial software and data analysis tools
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
- CFA, CAIA, or other relevant professional certifications
- Experience working in a renewable energy investment firm or a related industry
- Knowledge of Nigerian regulatory framework for renewable energy projects
